JOB DESIGNATION : Software Dev Assoc Engineer

Job Description :

1. Candidate should have to provide adequate technical details to the internal and external teams to substantiate the findings and provide support in issue resolution.
2. Candidate should have to build rapport with the vendors and the teams at Dell. Work in coordination with the teams to achieve engineering objectives.
3. Candidate should have to study new technologies offered by Dell and share the knowledge with team members through presentations.
4. Candidate should setup the test bed as per the hardware configuration matrix for the release consisting of platforms, peripherals, add-on cards etc and then install required software like firmware, BIOS, OS etc. Perform validation and/or certification as per the Test Strategy / Plan.
5. Candidate should have Troubleshoot system/component issues (Hardware/Software). Characterize and provide support in Root Cause Analysis of the defects on multiple VMware ESX/ESXi versions.
6. Candidate should study new technologies offered by Dell and share the knowledge with team members through presentations.
7. Candidate should have to assist other Dell teams, as and when needed to resolve OS issues.
8. Candidate should have to keep track of developments in the Virtualization technologies, use the knowledge to train and improve the internal processes.
9. Candidate should have hands-on exposure to VMware ESX/ESXi server and vCenter Server, good understanding of other virtualization technologies will be a plus.
10. Candidate must have good analytical skills to trouble shoot technical issues.
11. Candidate should have solid written and verbal communication skills.
12. Candidate should experience involving day-to-day interaction with distributed teams would be an added advantage.
13. Candidate should be very good in Computer Architecture, with good exposure to Hardware, BIOS, and Firmware layers.
14. Candidate should have good understanding of Hypervisors (ESX/ESXi architecture), networking and storage subsystems.
15. Candidate should have knowledge of System Management tools will be a plus.
16. Candidate should have 1-3 years of experience in the software/hardware industry.
17. Candidate should be an engineering graduate in Electronics & Communication/Computer Science.
